Material pre-straining effects on fatigue behaviour of S355 structural steel

چکیده
A commonly used material in offshore structures is S355 structural steel. For example, during the monopile fabrication process, pre-strained to different levels at depths through thickness. Therefore, influence of pre-straining on fatigue life and crack growth behaviour needs be examined considered for design assessment procedures. In present study, uniaxial tests have been conducted materials with pre-strain results are compared un-strained state. From test data, it has seen that S-N will reduce increasing level, while propagation rate remains largely unchanged material.
